BRC Passport and Flu Vaccination Requirements

Horses Passport Information

To compete at a BRC Area qualifier, your horses vaccination history MUST be correct and complete. Horse passports are checked at each AREA qualifier event so an area we hold a database of every-ones horses vaccination history to ensure it's correct before you enter a competition. If your horses details aren't on the database and are found to be incorrect on the day of competition you will eliminated and unable to compete.

We request that you send a good quality scanned copy of your horses Name and Ownership page, the picture page and all vaccinations to date page to area9vaccinations@outlook.com. On the email title please put your name, your club name and your horses full passport name.

Once you are on the database each year after your horses annual booster please send and updated copy of the vaccinations page.

If you wish you can verify your horse's vaccination dates by using this checker:

When entering qualifiers BRC are very strict and do check horse and rider eligibility for each competition. Please make yourself aware of these rules when entering.

Down grading of horses

If you have seen a competition you would like to enter but your horse is not eligible you can now apply to the BRC directly to downgrade your horse.

From 1 January 2011 BRC changed the rules regarding downgrading for BRC competitions. As a result of feedback from members, BRC has decided that anyone who would like to downgrade their horse for BRC competitions can complete a downgrading form and support it with an accompanying letter explaining why they wish to downgrade their horse.

BRC will be looking at each application on a case by case basis, taking into consideration the horse and riders age, past achievements, injuries and current levels of performance.

You can apply to down grade at any point during the year, however a decision must have been formally made by BRC before prelim entries close for any particular event you wish to compete in.
